My grandfather's 1918 and grandmother's 1917 Rolex wristwatches. My grandfather's watch is on one of my Type B straps. Click on the picture for an enlarged view.
This new section is intended top document some of the watches in my collection. I hope you will find the watches interesting, and that it will also give you a better insight into the kind of watches that I like, why I like them, and where the designs for my vintage watchstraps came from.
The first entry is, of course, My Grandparents' Watches, about the two wristwatches that got me interested in watches in the first place.
In the photograph here, my grandfather's watch is wearing a Type B design strap in premium Italian dark chestnut leather.
My grandmother's watch was originally fitted with a Harrop ‘Britannic’ Bracelet. These have very small fixing on the case that cannot take a conventional strap, which is why the metal fittings that the current strap attaches to were made. If you have a watch like this which is in good condition, but the original expanding bracelet is broken or missing, I can make gold or silver Loop Ends like the ones fitted to my grandmother's watch, which enable a leather strap to be attached. I can also supply two piece straps in ladies sizes with open ends, which will fit onto these loop ends.
In the coming weeks and months I will add entries for other watches in my collection.
I hope you will find this section interesting. If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to get in touch via my Contact Me page.
