Here’s a couple of photos.

My dad passed away a couple of months ago. Amongst items being passed down was my grandpas watch.

Is a Rolex from circa 1926, suits strap well as can see.

Now fitted to my MWC "Dirty Dozen" Replica watch and looks awesome. (see attached photo)

Watch strap

Dear David,

Thank you very much for the beautiful strap which I have just received. I attach a picture.

The watch belonged to my Great Uncle Fred. It is hallmarked 1916 with other markings which may be connected to his regiment or similar. He died in 1933 and the watch may not have been used since. When his widow died in the 1970s the watch (broken and strapless) was left or given to my father. When he died in 2020 I found the watch in his effects.

The first repairer I took it to said that although it looked good externally inside it was a mess ( it had probably been in a damp environment for decades) and said it was beyond repair. Finally I found a repairer to take it on, W E Clark & Son of Eastbourne. It cost around £400 and took a few months but I think it was worth it.

Photo's - Watch and strap

Dear David,

Further to recent order - please find attached a couple of pictures taken today of the strap with the watch.

Cleaning cloth did an excellent job and watch working again after a considerable number of years!

This is now something to pass to next generations with pride.

Watchstrap

Hi David,

Many, many thanks for the watch strap etc received this morning. I am a bit lost for superlatives to describe the quality, the look, the feel of it, it all looks "right".

I bought it from a local auctioneer, and what hooked me in was the fact that it's Great War era, and it works!

I shall be wearing this watch with pride, and maybe with my sleeve rolled up on the 14th December, at Chatham Militaria Fair, No it's not for sale, but it could make a few reenactors jealous!

The new strap has arrived this morning. There was no problem with customs.

I am very happy with the strap and my oldest IWC Borgel looks great. The new waxy leather seems to be comfortable and age well.

David I received the strap today and it looks incredible. I had some delays and servicing this trench watch so I will wait until it is complete and I can send you appropriate photographs. But I did try it in the empty case and it looks incredible. With many leather straps nowadays I have trouble as I mentioned to you earlier with them being large enough for my 7¾" wrist. I wanted you to know that this fits perfectly and at first glance it looks like I'm going to have it on around the 3rd or 4th hole so there's plenty of room! I think that's important for you to know going forward. I'm very impressed with the quality and I can't wait to get this finished so I can send you some finished pictures. All the best and a pleasure doing business with you!
